message to the examiner

Hey i hope you enjoy looking through my work.
I have enjoyed working on my magazine and i have felt that my skills have improved greatly.

Question 7

Question 6

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing my product.

Things I have learnt in the process of constructing my product would be that I learnt how to use the application adobe Photoshop that enabled me to manipulate photos and arrange my magazine perfect to how I wanted it.

Although it was a difficult program to use and get used to I feel that my product went quite well. I used tools such as the magic wand which allowed me to briefly cut around shape quickly which had simple backgrounds such as a fully green background. and for the closer up detail to improve the quality of cutting out i used the eraser tool with the hardness on about 60-70% i felt that this enabled me to erase the edges with a more professional finish.

I also made use of the gradient tool in a couple of areas of my magazine for example the front cover. Since my draft cover I have gradually decreased the darkness of the background from the black to grey/white. I achieved this by selecting the gradient tool and choosing two different colours from the pallet in this case i chose black and white.
Using Photoshop gave me the opportunity to manipulate the photography I took so that my images would fit in against the darker background. I was able to change the brightness of each image and also the contrast  which increased the visual impact, and that is something i learnt how to do more effectively in the process of constructing my product.

I found that my skill improved along the way of constructing my product as i i noticed i changed a lot of features throughout the task.

Question 5

Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media project?

The audience for my media product is aimed at particularly males from the age range of 16 to early 20’s as I know people within this age range who like hip hop.
Hip hop is dominated by the male majority but the audience however may consist of females. This is because all of the music in the style of hip hop is mainly males who rap.
With this in mind I had to use a male on my front cover as this would appeal most to the customers. I feel that having a famous model on my cover will work well and a

I think it is important to be selective in whom to aim my magazine at, for instance a certain group of people as I will therefore have a stronger fan base, and they will be more loyal toward their loved magazine.
From this former readers of my magazine could recommend to friends and family members who in turn will purchase my magazine and increase the growth of my magazine readership.
The only audiences in which I would be excluding from my target audience would be the older generation. Children would be an avoided target audience as they may find it difficult to read and enjoy with the big words which could prove unsuitable.

Question 3

The institution that would distribute my product would be similar to those institutions that distribute NME magazine such as IPC.

As this company has been around for many years and has a lot of experience and success which is clearly shown from their popular magazines.
I think this institution would be suitable to my magazine as it has a different genre and would work well in pleasing the people who want a hip hop magazine in the sort of style of NME.
And the company would benefit, as they would then different magazines for different audiences. Facts and figures, sales numbers for this company are excellent which was the main influence in my decision making.
